This article is totally awesome and, in my experience, so very true.  I've learned SO much this year in terms of women and business.  And while I'm VERY lucky to work for a company willing to make allowances for me to do what I need to do - there is SO much more to be done.

One of the final paragraphs in the article sums it up perfectly:

The best hope for improving the lot of all women, and for closing what Wolfers and Stevenson call a “new gender gap”—measured by well-being rather than wages—is to close the leadership gap: to elect a woman president and 50 women senators; to ensure that women are equally represented in the ranks of corporate executives and judicial leaders. Only when women wield power in sufficient numbers will we create a society that genuinely works for all women. That will be a society that works for everyone.

Out of the Corner of My Eye (the sequel)

This has to be one of the most strangely amazing things I've ever stumbled upon in my life.  Charles, the boys and I were out on the screened porch today laying out our plan to repaint and spruce up that space a bit.  Out of the corner of my eye I noticed something "fuzzy" hanging from the clothesline.  Upon further inspection we discovered it to be a hummingbird that apparently wasnt' feeling well, perched on our clothesline and promptly passed away!  I can only guess that his or her wings unfurled as it flipped over upside down upon dying.  We have no idea how long he's been out there but he is beautiful!  Amazing creature to inspect up close like that.  Really, really neat.  What are the odds of this happening!

Fresh Plums!

I noticed something out of the corner of my eye the other night coming home from a family walk.  Turns out we have a plum tree on the front of our lot.  There are about 10 plums on there two of which were ripe.  I don't think i've ever had plums fresh off the tree before - wow are they delicious!

OMG It Worked

We grew grass!  We left for the beach, came back and the grass had gone crazy.  Charles cut it today for the first time and it looks so pretty and green : )  Now, the rest of our yard looks terrible - lol.  In the Fall, we're going to try and reseed the rest of it to match.  Devlyn disappeared for awhile today.  When he showed back up, he was dressed in full cowboy gear and proceeded to draw and cut out a mustache and goatee to go with his outfit.  He looked awesome so we had to hold a photoshoot out by the saloon.  Blake followed suit the best he could : )
